2021 Hills & Coast McLaren Vale Shiraz

McLaren Vale

The Hills and Coast have a significant influence on the grapes grown on the Lloyd Brothers vineyards in the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale. This Shiraz is produced from grapes grown on the Lloyd Brothers historic McLaren Vale estate, which is located just 6km from the coast, creating a unique and distinctive microclimate.
Lovely rich, ripe dark berry fruit on the palate with mocha overtones. Beautifully backed up with a hint of spice, liquorice and black pepper from the stunning 2021 vintage.

“Ink black into a deep staining purple rim. Blueberry preserve and black olives sing from the glass and on the palate, with serious concentration that is just held in check by a fine gravel of tannins. All makes for a long and intense wine that offers big bang for buck.” Stuart Knox

“This is a price-point that hovers between the realm of possibility and the likelihood of improbability. Improbable because there is so little wine worth drinking in this zone, at least on these shores. Lo and behold, this is good! Sure, the oak tannins are a bit scratchy, but the fruit is luscious. Blue and black fruits, florals, a strap of chewy liquorice and a lick of vanilla. What's not to like?” Ned Goodwin MW

“Plenty of blue and black berry fruits plus some nice savory and soy sauce character
make this supple and well proportioned shiraz easy to enjoy. A nice freshness at the
finish. Already very open. Vegan. Drink now.” James Suckling
