2024 Hills & Coast McLaren Vale Rose

McLaren Vale

The Hills and Coast have a significant influence on the grapes grown on the Lloyd Brothers vineyards in McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills. The McLaren Vale estate is moderated by cool ocean breezes from the coast that borders the region to the west and is also influenced by the gully breezes from the bordering Adelaide Hills to the East. This Rosé is produced from Grenache grown on the Lloyd Brothers historic McLaren Vale estate, which is located just 6km from the coast, creating a unique and distinctive microclimate.

Winemaking - A cool vintage lead to great flavour development at low baumes whilst retaining great acidity. The Grenache grapes were selectively picked from Block 32 of Lloyd Brothers McLaren Vale Estate. Gently airbag pressed and fermented with the juice being allowed to settle prior to a long, cool ferment to help maintain all the lovely notes from vintage 2024. Following fermentation, the wine was left on lees for the right balance, structure and mouthfeel. Vegan Friendly.

Tasting Note - Pale salmon pink in colour with aromas of fresh strawberries, cherries and lifted spring blossoms. The palate is highlighted by subtle red berries, strawberries, guava with a hint of orange peel. This dry Grenache rosé has a bright, refreshing finish and is best enjoyed chilled.

Food suggestions – Pumpkin and Haloumi Salad, Antipasto platter and great with spicy Asian dishes.

90 points The Vintage Journal - SA Wine Guide - "Alpine strawberries, white raspberry and watermelon rind. Gummy bears and a hint of musk. This picks up on the confectionary delight that Grenache can elucidate and complements it with acute acidity and a dry finish. There is a touch of saltwater taffy about the finish but, overall, it’s clean and fresh. Perfect for daytime frivolity. Drink now" Shanteh Wale
