2021 Pinot Noir Syrah

Adelaide Hills

The blend of Pinot Noir and Syrah is a style that is steeped in Australian wine history with its origin dating back to some of the great light dry red wines of the 1950’s.
This Pinot Noir (58%) Syrah (42%) is made from grapes grown on the Lloyd Brothers cool climate Adelaide Hills Estate. Light berry red in colour with lifted perfumed aromas of raspberry, strawberry and a touch of spice. Light to medium bodied on the palate with layers of red berries, cherries and a hint of white pepper. A light dry red wine that is best enjoyed young and fresh.

“Deep ruby red with purple tints at the rim. Mixed forest berries, violets and graphite aromatics. Medium to full bodied, silky in its structure but still driving the flow long. Dark berry, wet stone and meaty undertones all packed into the palate. A pleasing version of this blend.” Stuart Knox

“A sappy, mid-weighted expression boasting red-fruit allusions, a whiff of hibiscus and some whole-bunch derived clove and white pepper accents. Sits effortlessly in the mouth. Deserved of a wide array of foods to do its versatility justice. A crunchy, imminently digestible simplicity is a virtue rather than a bane. Delicious!” Ned Goodwin MW

“Musk stick, strawberry, white pepper and spice, a little mint biscuit oak. Medium-bodied, light dusty tannin, strawberry and raspberry, a little game meat, lively acidity and a dusty peppery finish of solid length, some vanilla in the aftertaste. A little sappy and peppery, but a fresh wine of interest and vigour.” Gary Walsh
