2024 Adelaide Hills Estate Picpoul - Dozen
$15.00 bottle
Winemaking - A cool vintage led to great flavour development at low baumes whilst retaining great acidity. Fruit from the estate was selectively harvested with just the freerun juice being used for the Estate Picpoul. The juice was settled prior to a long, cool ferment which helped to maintain all the lovely notes from the idyllic 2024 vintage. Following ferment, the wine spent at least one month on lees with regular stirring to help build palate weight and mouthfeel. Vegan friendly.
Tasting note - Pale in colour with a tinge of green, this bright, fresh Picpoul has lifted aromas of lemon myrtle, white blossoms and a lime citrus edge. The palate displays granny smith apples, honeysuckle, lemon sherbet and lemon pith with mouthwatering freshness. Best enjoyed chilled.
92 points The Real Review - "Ultra pale lemon colour. White flowers, lemon pith and oyster brine aromas. Zippy and fresh on the palate with lemon zest, lime and jasmine notes sitting of a crunchy green apple acid line. Good length, the finish brings in a contrast of both sweet citrus and saline minerality that demands you come back for more." Stuart Knox
91 points The Wine Front - "Good aromatics here, a little blossom and lemongrass, lime leaf, lemon barley and green apple. It’s bright and fresh, quite saline too, with plenty of crunch and energy, a light chalky feel to texture, with a lively finish of good length, with perhaps a dusting of white pepper. Nice wine. Frisky and thirst slaking." Gary Walsh
