2023 Hills & Coast McLaren Vale Rose

The Hills and Coast have a significant influence on the grapes grown on the Lloyd Brothers vineyards in McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills. The McLaren Vale estate is moderated by cool ocean breezes from the coast that borders the region to the west and is also influenced by the gully breezes from the bordering Adelaide Hills to the East. This Rosé is produced from handpicked Grenache (70%) and Shiraz (30%) grown on the Lloyd Brothers historic McLaren Vale estate, which is located just 6km from the coast, creating a unique and distinctive microclimate.

Winemaking - A long, slow, cool vintage lead to great flavour development at low baumes whilst retaining great acidity. Grenache was hand-picked from Block 32 along with Shiraz from the Blocks 33 & 37 of Lloyd Brothers McLaren Vale Estate. Each variety was gently airbag pressed and fermented separately with juice allowed to settle prior to a long, cool ferment helping to maintain all the lovely notes from vintage 2023. Following fermentation, the wine was assembled selecting 70% Grenache and 30% Shiraz for the right balance, structure and mouthfeel. Vegan Friendly. 
  
Tasting Note - Pale watermelon pink in colour with lifted floral aromas highlighted by fresh strawberries. The palate is bursting with bright red berries, guava and morello cherries with a hint of cardamom spice. This dry rosé has amazing fruit qualities showing  lovely natural fruit sweetness while being sugar dry. (less than 2 grams per litre). It has a fresh, bright, refreshing finish and is best enjoyed chilled.
