The Presshouse Story
McLaren Vale is home to some of the oldest grapevines and olive trees in the country with plantings dating back to the 1800’s. The Presshouse is located at the heart of many properties in McLaren Vale. Whether being used to press grapes or olives, it’s a special place where all the hard work and toil of harvest is brought to life. The Presshouse Shiraz is a tribute to this rich history and the unique tapestry that makes up the McLaren Vale community.
A long, slow, cool vintage lead to great flavour development at low baumes resulting in fl avoursome wines at moderate alcohol levels. Fruit was machine picked using a selective harvester in the cool of night, then crushed and fermented in 2, 5 and 10 tonne open fermenters. A percentage pressed straight to seasoned French oak where it spent 12 months prior to bottling. Vegan friendly.
Dark crimson red in colour with aromas of red currants, cherry and plums, with lifted spice and pepper. The palate has layers of red fruits, a hint of blueberry and is beautifully backed up with a touch of spice, liquorice with choc mint overtones. A delicious medium to full bodied shiraz with lovely weight and balance.
