2021 Nouveau Estate GSM

McLaren Vale

This Nouveau style wine is made from Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre grapes grown on the Lloyd Brothers McLaren Vale Estate. The Shiraz, grown on the Terraces overlooking the township of McLaren Vale, was hand-picked with minimum time spent on skins before a slow cool ferment. The Grenache and Mourvèdre was hand-picked from the estate’s bushvines with the best parcels for this early drinking Nouveau style having a percentage of whole bunches in the open ferments, adding to the lift and brightness. This has resulted in a delicious wine with fresh red fruit, a hint of spice and a soft velvety finish.

"A gently extracted Mediterranean meld, with whole-berry exuberance contained by some whole-bunch rasp and pliant, yet gentle, tannins. Red berries, briar and clove. Exceptional early drinking. Loads of fun, without sacrificing the mettle of a true wine. Seriously dangerous with a chill." Ned Goodwin MW

"Light to medium purple colour in the glass. Plums and bracken on the nose. Light to medium-bodied, showing a lot of poise and balance for such a young wine. There’s an intriguing line of dried herbs that keeps you entertained throughout." Stuart Knox

"A very juicy and spicy blend of grenache, shiraz and mourvedre, all estate-grown. It has a spicy summer-berry nose with raspberry dominating. Soft and fleshy with an almost creamy texture and a sweet-berry finish. Will take a light chill. So drinkable now." Nick Stock
