2019 GSM

McLaren Vale

Grenache (65%) is sourced from a neighbouring vineyard which displays lovely juicy red and blue fruits, the Shiraz (32%) is from our estate grown Manor Block which is well suited to this style with lovely bright red fruit and a hint of dark chocolate. A small percentage of estate bush vine Mourvèdre (3%) adds some spice and lift to the blend. Each variety was picked and fermented separately in small open fermenters, then pressed to seasoned French oak. After 14 months the best barrels were selected and blended to create this GSM.

"Sourced from a neighbouring block of grenache (65%), the Manor Block shiraz (32%) and estate bush-vine mourvèdre (3%). Each variety fermented and aged separately for 14 months in seasoned French wood, including some barriques. A swathe of bitter chocolate and oak-derived vanillans meld with blue fruits, kirsch, anise and clove. Expansive and luxuriant, as much as it is taut and energetic. A complex juxtaposition, with firm, briary tannins to conclude." Ned Goodwin MW
